LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) facility construction demands the most qualified NDT Inspectors, CMT Technicians, and QC/QA Managers in the industry. These high-profile projects along the Gulf Coast and beyond offer top-tier compensation and long project durations. ASNT, AWS CWI, and API certifications are highly valued.
Petrochemical plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities, and heavy industrial construction demand experienced CMT Technicians and Special Inspectors who can work in complex, high-stakes environments. These projects often run multi-year durations with consistent overtime and the highest compensation packages we offer.
The U.S. semiconductor manufacturing buildout is one of the largest construction waves in a generation, and it demands CMT Technicians and Special Inspectors who can hold tight tolerances on massive, fast-tracked fab projects. As a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician, you're the person on site making sure the concrete, soil, and asphalt going into a structure actually meets spec. A typical day involves casting and testing concrete cylinders, running soil compaction and density tests, sampling asphalt, and documenting it all in field reports the engineer of record relies on. It's hands-on work that gets you on some of the biggest job sites in the country.
The most common starting certification is ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I. Many of our technicians also hold ICC and NICET certifications as they advance. You don't need every cert on day one -- if you've got the right attitude and some field experience, we'll help you get certified. Entry-level candidates who are willing to learn are welcome to apply.
Our application has an optional spot to upload your certifications -- it helps us match you to the right projects faster, but it is not required to apply. Apply first; we'll sort out the details when we talk.

Special Inspector Jobs ›NDT Inspector Jobs ›Construction Materials Testing (CMT) is an engineering discipline within the construction industry involving the field sampling, laboratory testing, and quality verification of construction materials including soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry. CMT professionals ensure that all materials used on construction projects meet applicable design specifications, building codes, and standards including ASTM International, ACI (American Concrete Institute), AASHTO, and IBC requirements. Citex CMT, LLC specializes in CMT and Special Inspections for major infrastructure projects including Data Centers, Power Generation facilities, LNG terminals, semiconductor manufacturing plants, and other industrial and commercial construction projects across the United States. Note: In this context, CMT refers exclusively to Construction Materials Testing -- an engineering and construction industry role -- and is unrelated to Chartered Market Technician (finance) or Certified Medication Technician (healthcare).
Real words from real people on the road with us right now.
I'll be honest — I was skeptical at first. I'd heard the ‘great opportunity’ pitch before at other firms. But this was different from day one. Not only did I start making more money than I ever had in this industry, the work was consistent and the team actually had my back. I came in as a field tech, put my head down, got my certifications — just like they said — I got a raise with each certification I passed and showed up ready every single day. A few months in, they pulled me aside and told me they wanted to promote me into a senior inspector role. They didn't go outside to hire — they looked at the people already in the field doing the work. That meant everything to me. I went from wondering if this career had a ceiling to realizing I was just getting started.
I've worked for the big firms. You're a number there. Here they actually know your name, know your certifications, and know what you're capable of. The pay was better than anywhere I'd been — I wasn't piecing together hours hoping for overtime. And the more I invested in the job, the more they invested in me. I started in the lab doing routine testing, kept pushing to learn the QMS side of things, and within a few months I was being groomed for a compliance and quality role I didn't even know was on the table. They always say promotion comes from within whenever possible, and I'm living proof of that. If you put in the work here, this place will take you somewhere.
I came from a company paying me straight 40 hours. Now I'm working a pipeline project, running 58–60 hours a week, $180 a day per diem, and my checks don't look anything like they used to. I wish I had made the jump sooner.
I've been in construction testing for six years and never seen pay like this. Last month I took home just over $10,200 after per diem. The company actually takes care of you — they're not just trying to fill a seat.
I turned down a staff job to keep working with this company and I'd make that call again every time. Between the hourly, the overtime, and the per diem I'm consistently over $8,500 a month. Good people, good projects, GREAT money.
The per diem alone covers everything being out of town and I still pocket a good chunk of it. Stack that on top of $55 an hour at 55+ hours and you're looking at real money — not just 'good for construction' money. I tell every tech I know to look into this.
Citex CMT works with some of the most demanding clients in construction -- Fortune 100 companies, major energy operators, and federal project owners who tolerate zero margin for error. That's why they pay top dollar for our services, and it's why we're able to pay our CMT technicians and special inspectors more than anyone else in the market.
Working here is selective. We don't place warm bodies on job sites. We place professionals who understand what's at stake and take pride in the work. If you're the type who cuts corners -- this isn't the right fit.
If that sounds like you -- and you have the certifications to back it up -- we want to talk. The compensation, the company truck, the per diem, the mega-projects: it's all real. But so are the expectations.
Real job sites. Real Citex CMT projects. Data centers, power plants, LNG facilities, Fortune 100 distribution centers, Fortune 500 manufacturing plants, federal border infrastructure, and more -- nationwide.
Our clients are among the best in the industry. They expect the best -- and so do we.
